Rap music has origins in urban African American culture. From there, it made its way into block party culture in the 70s. Pioneered and perfected by black people, rap music gained a lot of popularity due to its addictive nature and soon people from different cultures and backgrounds began to dabble in the production of rap music. The lyricism in rap can range from day-to-day storytelling and deep personal reflection to just having fun and making rhymes about more rated topics. It is a genre that is mostly enjoyed by young people, and a lot of new and upcoming musicians from all over the world are trying their luck in becoming a well-known and respected rapper.

Blanco, more well-known by his pseudonym “Bangin Blanco” is a musician hailing from the United States who is primarily focused on rap. He describes Kendrick Lamar and Big Sean as his biggest inspirations since he was a young boy. When asked about how he became interested in this genre, he says that he grew up in an urban neighbourhood that had a lot of musical influences. Growing up, he was surrounded by people who were passionate about music. Being in the company of aspiring DJs, songwriters, and musicians, in general, helped instil a natural musical sense in Blanco. Which is why he was always musically inclined. But as much as he loved music and had a sense and need of becoming a musician himself, it was always a question for him as to which direction he should take. After trying his luck in different areas of music which include learning instruments, making music, and writing lyrics, he discovered that the thing he was best at is writing lyrics and making rhymes. What fascinating him most about rap music is that it takes no money to make raps. One can just grab a pen and paper and write lyrics and make a song. Another thing that attracted him to this genre is that he could express a lot of his thoughts in the way he was able to write songs. It became an outlet to him and slowly, he started improving on his skill. He started off writing simple lyrics and through practice he starting making complete songs. Rap is spoken poetry and Blanco was addicted to it. Bangin Blanco was the rapper name he chose for himself. His goal was to make hypnotic songs with satisfying repetitions and beats that resonated with the people who listened to his songs. Other than this, he gained inspiration from his day-to-day life, so he incorporated aspects of that into his music. On his Instagram and SoundCloud, he uploads his best tracks. He carefully formulates the lyrics, finds and composes the perfect beat, and then matches it with the perfect cover art. He often collaborates with other artists on his music. Whether they are musicians who help him compose and produce his songs or they are digital artists who help him create the perfect videos for his songs. These videos and cover arts are made with a lot of creative input from Blanco himself. Most of them have influences from animated media such as cartoons and anime. They go wonderfully with his song lyrics and the combination of his addictive songs with the comical videos makes the whole experience enjoyable. His SoundCloud music has garnered quite a bit of attention since he started putting it out. He has thousands of streams on his songs and hundreds of positive comments. He is entirely self-promoted, which makes his success even more wonderful. Some of his most streamed tracks are collaborations with another rapper named Yvng Gxxnie. These tracks have accumulated a whopping 200 thousand streams on SoundCloud, marking their success. It seems like Blanco’s hard work and passion for his craft are slowly but surely paying off. His new releases like Me an You, Partner In Crime, and Sacred Geometry have also gained thousands of streams. He puts his soul into his work and the results are self-explanatory. Looking at the future, Blanco has plans to promote his music even more and release his albums. He aims to become one of the biggest names in the rap industry and judging by the quality of his music, he deserves it.
